Why it exists
A reversing camera needs a trigger that says the vehicle is in reverse. On a modern vehicle that state lives on the CAN bus rather than on an easy-to-tap wire. The CAN KONTROL CAMERA reads it off the bus and switches the camera and monitor on when reverse is selected.
No reverse-light splice
Because it takes the reverse state from the bus, there is no need to cut into the reverse-light circuit to find a trigger. That keeps the native wiring intact and makes for a cleaner, faster install on vehicles where the reverse feed is hard to reach.
Fitting
It takes a two-wire connection to the CAN bus plus a fused permanent supply and earth. On vehicles under warranty it can read the bus with a no-cut inductive connection, leaving the native loom intact.
It is the Intellitec alternative to the CANNECT CAMSCAN. Where a single-function interface is fixed to one job and one voltage, the CAN KONTROL CAMERA is configured to the task, works on 12V and 24V, and is backed by the UK manufacturer. If you need a signal that is not on the standard list, we can develop it.
What stays the same
- The same two-wire connection to CAN high and CAN low, plus a fused permanent supply and earth.
- The same reverse trigger for the camera and monitor, taken off the bus instead of the reverse-light circuit.
