Why it exists
An aftermarket head unit expects a handful of vehicle signals that modern vehicles no longer expose on a wire. The CAN KONTROL NAV reads them off the bus and presents reverse, illumination, ignition and park brake as the outputs the head unit is looking for.
The speed feed
The head unit also wants a road speed input for its dead-reckoning navigation. The CAN KONTROL NAV is configured to provide the speed signal the head unit expects for the vehicle in question, so tell us the make and model and the unit you are fitting.
Fitting
It takes a two-wire connection to the CAN bus plus a fused permanent supply and earth. On vehicles under warranty it can read the bus with a no-cut inductive connection, leaving the native loom intact.
It is the Intellitec alternative to the CANNECT NAV, NAV3. Where a single-function interface is fixed to one job and one voltage, the CAN KONTROL NAV is configured to the task, works on 12V and 24V, and is backed by the UK manufacturer. If you need a signal that is not on the standard list, we can develop it.
What stays the same
- The same two-wire connection to CAN high and CAN low, plus a fused permanent supply and earth.
- The same signal set for the head unit: speed, reverse, illumination, ignition and park brake.
- The same no-cut inductive option for vehicles under warranty.
Vehicle compatibility
The CAN KONTROL NAV is configured to the vehicle on the i2CAN platform, so it covers a wide range of makes and models, at 12V and 24V. We have configurations across 265 models and 38 makes. If your vehicle is not listed, tell us the make, model and year and we will confirm the configuration.
