Speed & engine signals

CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM

The CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM is a single CAN bus interface that reads road speed and engine RPM off the bus and provides both a speed feed and an RPM feed from one module. Tell us the vehicle and the two devices you are feeding, and we configure the outputs for the signals they need.

Why it exists

Some jobs need both a road speed feed and an engine RPM feed at the same time, such as a limiter working alongside a rev-based auxiliary. Rather than fitting two separate interfaces, the CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM reads both values off the bus from one module.

Built for the feed you need

The speed and RPM outputs are configured to the vehicle and to the equipment you are driving. Tell us what each output has to feed and we set the unit up for those signals. If a device needs a signal that is not on the standard list, we can develop it.

Fitting

It takes a two-wire connection to the CAN bus plus a fused permanent supply and earth. On vehicles under warranty it can read the bus with a no-cut inductive connection, leaving the native loom intact.

It is the Intellitec alternative to the CANNECT TWINPULSE. Where a single-function interface is fixed to one job and one voltage, the CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM is configured to the task, works on 12V and 24V, and is backed by the UK manufacturer. If you need a signal that is not on the standard list, we can develop it.

What stays the same

  • The same two-wire connection to CAN high and CAN low, plus a fused permanent supply and earth.
  • The same install method: read the signals off the bus and drive the outputs, without cutting into native circuits.
  • The same no-cut inductive option for vehicles under warranty.

Vehicle compatibility

The CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM is configured to the vehicle on the i2CAN platform, so it covers a wide range of makes and models, at 12V and 24V. We have configurations across 265 models and 38 makes. If your vehicle is not listed, tell us the make, model and year and we will confirm the configuration.

Frequently asked questions

What does the CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM do?
The CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM speed and RPM outputs from one unit. It reads the vehicle CAN bus and drives configurable outputs, and is set up for the job before it reaches you.
What hardware is it built on?
The CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM runs on the Intellitec i2CAN-8 platform, a configurable vehicle CAN interface designed and manufactured in the UK. One box covers the range; a config file sets the function.
Is the CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM an alternative to the CANNECT TWINPULSE?
Yes. The CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM is the Intellitec alternative to the CANNECT TWINPULSE, built on our own i2CAN platform. Tell us the vehicle and we configure it for the job.
Can one unit really give me both speed and RPM?
That is what it is built for. It reads both road speed and engine RPM off the CAN bus. Tell us the vehicle and the two devices you are feeding and we configure each output for the signal it needs.
What if my device needs a specific pulse or format?
Tell us the device and the vehicle and we configure the CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM to suit. If the speed or RPM feed it expects is not on the standard list, we can develop it.
