CAN KONTROL SPEED

The CAN KONTROL SPEED takes road speed from the vehicle CAN bus so you can feed a taxi meter, a tachograph, a speed limiter or a tracker without a mechanical sender or a splice into the loom. Tell us the vehicle and the device you are feeding and we configure the unit for the signal it needs.

At a glance
  • Road speed signal for meters, tachographs, limiters and trackers.
  • Reads the vehicle CAN bus with a two-wire connection, or a no-cut inductive reader on vehicles under warranty.
  • One configurable i2CAN platform, 12V and 24V, rather than a separate part per function.
  • UK designed, manufactured and supported by Intellitec, part of Scorpion Group.

Why it exists

Modern vehicles no longer expose road speed on a wire you can tap. The signal lives on the CAN bus. The CAN KONTROL SPEED reads it there and drives a configurable output, so equipment that expects a speed feed still gets one.

One box, 12V and 24V

A single-function interface is usually fixed to one voltage, so a car part and a truck part are different stock lines. The CAN KONTROL SPEED is configured to the vehicle and works on both 12V and 24V, so one line covers the car and the commercial job.

Fitting

It takes a two-wire connection to the CAN bus plus a fused permanent supply and earth. On vehicles under warranty it can read the bus with a no-cut inductive connection, leaving the native loom intact.

It is the Intellitec alternative to the CANNECT PULSE, PULSE 24V. Where a single-function interface is fixed to one job and one voltage, the CAN KONTROL SPEED is configured to the task, works on 12V and 24V, and is backed by the UK manufacturer. If you need a signal that is not on the standard list, we can develop it.

What stays the same

  • The same two-wire connection to CAN high and CAN low, plus a fused permanent supply and earth.
  • The same install method: read the signal off the bus and drive an output, without cutting into native circuits.
  • The same no-cut inductive option for vehicles under warranty.

Vehicle compatibility

The CAN KONTROL SPEED is configured to the vehicle on the i2CAN platform, so it covers a wide range of makes and models, at 12V and 24V. We have configurations across 265 models and 38 makes. If your vehicle is not listed, tell us the make, model and year and we will confirm the configuration.

Frequently asked questions

What does the CAN KONTROL SPEED do?
The CAN KONTROL SPEED road speed signal for meters, tachographs, limiters and trackers. It reads the vehicle CAN bus and drives configurable outputs, and is set up for the job before it reaches you.
What hardware is it built on?
The CAN KONTROL SPEED runs on the Intellitec i2CAN-8 platform, a configurable vehicle CAN interface designed and manufactured in the UK. One box covers the range; a config file sets the function.
Is the CAN KONTROL SPEED an alternative to the CANNECT PULSE?
Yes. The CAN KONTROL SPEED is the Intellitec alternative to the CANNECT PULSE, PULSE 24V, built on our own i2CAN platform. Tell us the vehicle and we configure it for the job.
Does it cover both 12V and 24V vehicles?
Yes. Where a single-function interface splits 12V and 24V across separate parts, one CAN KONTROL SPEED is configured for either, so the same line fits a car or a commercial vehicle.
Will it feed a taxi or private hire meter?
Tell us the meter and the vehicle and we configure the CAN KONTROL SPEED to provide the speed feed it expects. If the meter needs a signal that is not on the standard list, we can develop it.
