Smart Forfour: adding cruise control
A Forfour is a city car, but its owners do not stay in town. When a commute or a weekend away includes a long motorway run, the lack of cruise tops their list of complaints.
Two Forfours, one name
Smart used the Forfour name twice: an early car related to the Mitsubishi Colt, and a later one developed alongside the Renault Twingo with its engine in the back. They are very different cars, so tell us which Forfour sits on your drive.
Short wheelbase, long road
A short wheelbase and low weight mean a Forfour feels the road more at speed. A constant pace asks more of the driver than in a larger car, and over a long trip that effort adds up.
Configured for your Forfour
CAN KONTROL CRUISE leaves Chorley configured for your Forfour, once we agree the version, year and engine with you. The Forfour already carries its speed signal on its network; the module reads it there, leaving the throttle untouched. The French sibling has a Twingo page of its own.

Questions about the Smart Forfour
- Is the electric EQ Forfour covered?
- Mention the EQ when you get in contact and that Forfour gets its own check.
- What about the two-seat Fortwo?
- It has a separate configuration. Tell us which Smart you drive.
- If I move to a bigger car, is the unit wasted?
- No. Your Forfour module gets reconfigured for the next car, and we do not bill for that.
