Engine runlock

Honda CR-V runlock

A CR-V doing security rounds, mobile care visits or private hire spends much of every shift parked with its driver a few metres off. Kill the engine on a January night and the windows mist and the seats chill before you are back. Walk away with it ticking over and unlocked, and anyone passing could climb in.

A family SUV put to work

Plenty of CR-Vs earn their keep instead of doing school pickups. A patrol officer checking a perimeter fence, a carer calling on a client at home, a chauffeur outside a hotel lobby. Each wants a warm interior plus a charged radio or dashcam on returning.

Cold seat or open door

Without runlock there are two habits. Switch off, and the battery alone feeds every gadget until it sags and the Honda takes ages to warm again. Leave the ignition live with nobody aboard, and an unattended SUV is there for whoever tries the handle first.

Honda keeps turning, fob goes with you

CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK picks up ignition, speed, parking brake, pedal and door information off the Honda's data network, then keeps the motor going after you take the key away. Lock up and leave. Your foot on brake, clutch or accelerator, the parking brake let off, or your door swung open outside your chosen conditions, and normal running returns.

Questions about the Honda CR-V

Does it matter if my CR-V starts with a key or a button?
It changes how locking is arranged, so mention which yours has, plus its year. Our engineer looks at that before programming anything.
Will the heated seats and blower carry on while parked?
Anything the running engine normally supplies keeps getting supplied, since the engine has not stopped. That includes whatever heater setting you left.
We are swapping our CR-Vs next year. Is the unit wasted?
No. Remove it, send it for reprogramming to suit the incoming SUV, then refit. Reconfiguration is free.
