Adding cruise control to an Audi Q3
The Q3 is the family car for plenty of people who wanted to sit a bit higher than a hatchback allows. School runs are easy, but the holiday drive or the monthly trip to see relatives is where the missing cruise starts to hurt.
A raised seat on a long trip
Sitting higher gives a good view down the motorway, and the Q3 is quiet enough at speed that drivers settle in for hours. Without any speed hold, though, the driver is the only person in the car who never relaxes. On a full summer run, that is a long time.
Average speed cameras and roadworks
Long stretches of managed motorway make holding an exact speed by foot a chore. Creep a little over and you worry about a camera. Ease off too far and the lorry behind closes in, so drivers end up staring at the speedometer instead of the road.
Holding the speed for you
Our module takes the Q3's speed signal from the Audi's own network to keep the pace you pick, then resumes or cancels on command. Its software is written in Chorley for your Q3 before dispatch. The engineer checks which Q3 switches suit you, and whether a clip-on inductive link could spare the Audi's wiring.

Questions about the Audi Q3
- Is a quattro Q3 any different?
- Mention four-wheel drive if your Q3 has it. The driveline is noted alongside the engine when the setup is confirmed.
- Will it still work with a small trailer on the back?
- The module holds speed using information from the Q3 itself whether or not anything is hitched. Choosing a sensible speed for the load stays with the driver, as with any car.
- Is it the same part as for a Q5?
- The hardware is shared but the programming is not. Each module is written for a single Q3, not for Audi SUVs in general.
