Great Wall H5: adding cruise control
The Great Wall H5 is a rugged 4x4 that few British mechanics ever see, bought by owners who wanted plenty of off-road vehicle for the money. Some H5s have no speed hold, and long rural drives show it.
Value 4x4, long rural miles
Owners of a budget four-wheel drive usually need it for something: a muddy track, a trailer, a long drive from a remote home. Those drives often run along open roads where cruise would help. The H5 rarely gets the attention of better-known 4x4s, but its owners want comfort just the same.
Little local knowledge to lean on
Great Wall has never been a big name in Britain, so independent garages have little experience of its electrics. Owners asking for a retrofit are often told it cannot be done, or sold a box intended for some other model. Neither answer helps.
A setup made for the H5
CAN KONTROL CRUISE reads the H5's CAN network, with no mechanical connection to the throttle. Given the H5's age, engine and switchgear, our engineer configures the module in Chorley. Should anything need changing later, reconfiguration is free.

Questions about the Great Wall H5
- Is the H5 really covered?
- Yes, the H5 has a place on our list. The engineer checks your exact H5 before anything is configured.
- Is the Steed pickup different?
- Yes, the Steed has its own record, so mention which Great Wall you own.
- Could my local garage do the fitting?
- A competent auto electrician can, since the module arrives programmed. The engineer can talk the connection through with them first.
