Cruise control retrofit

Mercedes Vito van: adding cruise control

The Vito is the mid-size van that electricians, plumbers and couriers choose when they want something more comfortable than the usual workhorse. When the spec sheet left cruise off, that comfort goes missing the moment the van joins the motorway.

Trades who live in the cab

For a self-employed trade, the Vito is office, store and transport in one. A big job two hours away means four hours of driving in a day, plus the work itself. A steady speed on the motorway lets the driver arrive less tired and stay within limits without staring at the dial.

Downtime costs a day's pay

If an accessory brings a van back to the garage, the owner loses a working day, not just the cost of the fix. Fleet operators feel it too, multiplied by the number of vans involved. Nobody running a Vito wants an extra reason to be off the road.

The Vito unit

Vito modules come out of our Chorley factory configured to the van. Each unit is fed by the Vito's own CAN traffic, and nothing is attached to the throttle. One van or forty, the engineer talks through each Vito's age, engine and transmission, and how your drivers will operate it.

Questions about the Mercedes Vito

Is the Vito Tourer included, or just the panel van?
Tell us panel van, crew van or Tourer, and that particular Vito is checked before configuration.
We fit our own vans in-house. Can we buy direct?
Yes. Enquire as trade, say how many vans you plan to do, and we will supply your workshop.
How do we get started?
Send the van's age, engine size and gearbox, how many you need, and whether you are buying for the trade or for yourself. A picture of the steering column helps too.
