Cruise control retrofit

Cruise control for the Hyundai Solaris

The Solaris was built for markets outside Britain, so most people reading this are installers or owners abroad. Many were sold as plain, hard-working saloons without cruise, and long empty roads turn that into a daily annoyance.

A saloon that covers big distances

The Solaris is a straightforward, durable car, common as a taxi and a family saloon where it was sold. Distances between towns can be large, and keeping the needle still by foot through hours of straight road is wearing.

Scarce parts invite a near match

Because the car is not sold everywhere, retrofit parts for it are scarce, and the temptation is to use something meant for another Hyundai. A near match is risky on a car that its driver may depend on for income.

What we can do from Lancashire

Our Lancashire engineers write a Solaris program into each unit, which then watches the saloon's network for speed and leaves the throttle alone. Tell us which country the car is in, plus its build year, engine capacity and gearbox. One of our engineers checks the Solaris setup before it is built.

Questions about the Hyundai Solaris

Is the Solaris the same as an Accent?
Hyundai built them as relatives, but the Solaris has a separate coverage record, so its program is specific to it.
We run Solaris taxis. Can we order several?
Yes. Give the size of the taxi fleet, say it is a trade order, and one quote covers every car.
What if the car's software changes later?
The Solaris unit accepts a new program whenever one is needed, free of charge.
