Skoda Yeti engine runlock
The Yeti is a compact, tough crossover that found a home with people working in the countryside: vets, dog handlers, estate staff, rural carers. Many of those jobs involve leaving the car for a while with something inside that needs warmth or cool air. Engine off is not always kind to whatever is in the back.
Passengers and cargo that need a steady temperature
A spaniel in the boot on a warm day, a box of medicines, or simply a cabin that must not freeze between farm calls. Each of those depends on the climate system, which depends on the engine. A small crossover leaves little room for extra heaters or fans.
Gates, yards and a key in the ignition
Rural work means stopping at gates and farmyards and walking away from the car. Leaving the Yeti purring away with no one nearby invites trouble even on a quiet lane, and switching off means returning to a car that is too hot or too cold.
Runlock on the Yeti
CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK listens to the Yeti's CAN bus, so it knows when the engine is on, the car has stopped, the handbrake is applied and nobody is touching the pedals or a door. With those conditions right, the engine carries on without its key, and the doors can still be locked. Return, let the handbrake down, step on a pedal or open your door against the setup, and runlock is over. Longer drives? There is cruise control for the Yeti too.
