Cruise control retrofit

Suzuki Splash: adding cruise control

The Splash has a tall body, a high seat and wide-opening doors, which is why older drivers and carers like it so much. It was never a motorway cruiser by reputation, yet many spend their weekends driving up to see family.

Comfortable seating, tired legs

The upright driving position is a big part of the appeal. On a two hour trip, though, keeping a constant pressure on the pedal from that seat gets uncomfortable, especially for anyone whose knees complain on long trips.

An older car that deserves care

Most Splash cars on the road now have years behind them, and their owners want them to keep going without new faults. Any addition needs to leave the engine side alone and behave the same every day, or it becomes a reason to scrap a car that was otherwise fine.

Our approach for the Splash

The module picks road speed out of the Splash's CAN messages, and no linkage or cable gets added. It holds the pace you set until you brake or cancel, and resumes when you ask. Tweaks to the Splash setup later on are free of charge.

Questions about the Suzuki Splash

Is the Splash related to any other car?
It was built alongside the Vauxhall Agila of the same era. Say which badge yours wears and roughly how old it is, and that is the car we look at.
Is cruise control easy to learn for an older driver?
The basic actions are set, cancel and resume. We agree simple controls with you, and most drivers are comfortable after a short run.
Could a mobile fitter do the job at home?
It varies from car to car and fitter to fitter. Ask about it in your message and our engineer will advise.
