Engine runlock

Mitsubishi Shogun runlock

The Shogun has long been the 4x4 of rescue teams, rural response and people towing heavy loads. On a callout it waits at the foot of a valley, lights flashing, while the team climbs. Nobody can stay with it, and switching it off is not an option.

Base vehicle at a callout

At a rescue the Shogun becomes the base. Radios stay on, lamps mark the position, and the heater runs for the casualty who will be carried back to it. It may sit there for several hours.

Winter turns a long wait into a risk

In freezing weather a battery under load loses strength fast. A Shogun that will not restart, at night, with a cold casualty, is what every team wants to rule out. Leaving it idling and open in a public car park is not much better.

Our Shogun runlock

CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK takes the Shogun's ignition status, pedal and handbrake positions, door states and speed from its CAN bus, holding the engine on once its key is away with the team. The 4x4 stays lockable throughout. Every module is programmed at our Chorley factory for its year and the equipment aboard.

Questions about the Mitsubishi Shogun

Our team has two Shoguns of different ages. Same unit?
Each is configured to its own year and version. Send details of both and the engineer sets them up individually.
Does it affect off road driving?
No. Runlock only holds the engine while parked with its conditions satisfied. On the move it does nothing.
If we replace a Shogun, can its unit move across?
It can be refitted to the replacement Shogun and set up again at no cost.
