Fiat 500C: adding cruise control
The 500C is the version people buy for sunny days, and sunny days are when they drive it furthest: the coast, a festival, a weekend away with the fabric roof rolled back. Doing those trips with no cruise leaves your right foot busy the whole way while everyone else enjoys the view.
Roof open, foot down
With the roof back there is more wind and more noise to cope with, and a 500C's speed drifts upward while you are enjoying the sun. A set speed takes one job off the driver's list. It is an addition that suits the way a 500C really gets used.
The hatchback answer is not automatically yours
The 500C has a lot in common with the fixed-roof car, but our coverage lists it separately and any installer should treat it that way. A friend's hatchback setup is not proof that yours will match. For the tin-top, see the Fiat 500 retrofit.
Programmed for the cabriolet
We programme CAN KONTROL CRUISE for the 500C in Chorley, working from the engine, gearbox and age details you send. The convertible's own network supplies everything the unit needs to know about pace and throttle demand, so no cable goes anywhere near the throttle. A cherished 500C still under warranty might be a candidate for the no-cut, inductive way of connecting, a question our engineer settles once your details are in.

Questions about the Fiat 500C
- Does the soft top affect the job?
- The roof plays no part in it, since the unit draws on the car's electronics rather than its bodywork. Body style still goes into the configuration, so mention that yours is the convertible.
- Will the 500C's steering wheel buttons run it?
- That depends on which controls your 500C already has. Our engineer goes over what is possible on your 500C before building anything.
- Can it be changed after it is fitted?
- Yes. Reprogramming is possible at any point, and a configuration change costs you nothing.
