Cruise control retrofit

Volkswagen Amarok cruise control retrofit

Amaroks work for a living. Farmers, estate managers, builders and horse owners use them to tow trailers, boxes and plant across long distances, often on quick A roads linking one site to the next. A truck without cruise makes each of those journeys harder on the driver.

Towing over long distances

Pulling a livestock or plant trailer to a sale or a job site can take all morning. With weight on the hitch, the truck labours on hills and pushes on descents, and keeping to a lawful towing speed takes constant attention. The driver arrives with tired legs and a sore neck.

Towing limits are easy to break

Limits for a vehicle pulling a trailer are lower than for the truck on its own, and after a long day that is simple to forget. A driver used to the unladen truck can drift well over without meaning to. Holding a chosen speed takes that slip out of the journey.

Fitting it to an Amarok

CAN KONTROL CRUISE learns how fast the Amarok is going from its CAN network, so the throttle stays factory standard. Before configuration in Chorley, we confirm the engine, age and which controls you would like on the wheel or stalk. Running other working pickups too? Our step-by-step retrofit guide explains the process.

Questions about the Volkswagen Amarok

Does it cope when I am pulling a loaded trailer?
Describe the towing you do when you enquire. Programming is matched to your truck, and an engineer talks through how it behaves under load.
I run a few pickups on the farm. Can they all be done?
Yes. Send the makes, models and registrations, whether they are all Amaroks or a mix, and each will be checked.
Does the V6 need a different unit?
Configuration follows the engine fitted, so name yours and a matching setup is agreed before supply.
