Cruise control retrofit

Cruise control for the Volkswagen Scirocco

A Scirocco is a driver's car, a low, wide coupe bought for the way it looks and drives. Owners love the back roads, but they also do the motorway trips to meets, track days and holidays. Lacking cruise, those long stretches are the dull part of owning one.

Fun on the B roads, tedious on the M roads

The Scirocco rewards an engaged driver on a twisting road. On a long, straight motorway with a camera zone, that same eager engine wants to creep up. The driver ends up nursing the throttle when they would rather relax until the good roads start.

Enthusiasts want it to look original

Scirocco owners are fussy about their cars, and rightly so. A bodged add-on with odd buttons or loose wiring would spoil a car they have looked after. Anything added has to behave as though it came out of the factory.

A careful setup for the Scirocco

CAN KONTROL CRUISE reads the coupe's speed from its own network and leaves the accelerator alone. Age, engine and how you would like to operate it are discussed, then our Chorley plant programmes the module. Reprogramming is possible later, so it is not stranded when you sell.

Questions about the Volkswagen Scirocco

Will it affect how the car drives normally?
It stays inactive unless you ask it to hold a speed. Switch it off and the Scirocco behaves just as before.
My Scirocco is modified. Is that a problem?
Tell us what has been changed, particularly any remap or electronics work, so it can be factored in.
Can I keep the interior looking standard?
That is the aim. Controls are chosen together with you so the cabin stays as close to original as possible.
