A Doblo frequently carries a sole trader's whole livelihood: a locksmith, a meter fitter, a caterer, a courier. Small vans carry modest batteries, and once a beacon, a cool box or a bank of tool chargers is running, the battery is the first thing to give up.
A car-derived van doing van work
The Doblo drives like a car but gets loaded like a van. Owners add amber lights, inverters, charging drawers and small fridges. That is fine on the move, but the Doblo is often parked outside a customer's door for an hour with all of that still switched on.
Starting tomorrow on a dead battery
Run that kit from a stationary, silent van and the battery slowly empties. Do it often enough and the van struggles on a cold morning, or the battery wears out early. Leaving it idling, key in the slot, fixes the drain and creates a bigger problem: an idling van that nobody is guarding.
Your Doblo, idling and locked
With CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK fitted, the Doblo idles on, doors locked, once you carry the key to the job. If somebody touches the accelerator or clutch, eases the handbrake down, or opens your door while the conditions you agreed with us are not met, the van is handed back to normal control.
