Engine runlock

Runlock for the Fiat Talento van

A Talento kitted out for CCTV, survey or surveillance work might sit in one spot for hours. The cameras, recorders and screens need steady power, and the operator needs to be able to leave the van to do the job.

Long hours parked in a Talento

Camera vans, survey vehicles and mobile offices are common uses for a panel van like the Talento. The equipment inside draws power the whole time the van is deployed, which can mean a full working day without turning a wheel.

Equipment loses power, or the van is left open

On batteries alone, recording gear can shut down before the job is finished. An unattended Talento ticking over with its ignition on means the van is unprotected whenever the operator steps out. Losing footage, or the Talento itself, is a bad outcome either way.

Runlock that moves with the fleet

CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK keeps the Talento's engine running once the operator has the key, and the Talento still locks. It reads the Talento's CAN bus and quits runlock should a stranger work a pedal, take the handbrake off or open up from the driving side against the configured rules. When a Talento is replaced, we rewrite the configuration for the next van without charge. There is also a Talento cruise control option.

Questions about the Fiat Talento

Our camera van has its own battery bank. Do we still need runlock?
A battery bank only lasts so long. With runlock, the engine stays on and keeps topping it up through a long deployment.
Can the Talento be locked while runlock is on?
It can. Exactly how depends on your van's key and remotes, which the engineer confirms with you.
How do you know it suits our Talento?
We ask how old it is, which version, and what it powers, and our engineer compares that with our coverage list before building anything.
