Vauxhall Astra H runlock
Older Astra H cars still work hard for mobile security and key-holding firms, doing the rounds of industrial estates at night. At each site the officer gets out to check doors and fences, and the car sits with its beacon, dash camera and radio on. Leaving the engine running means leaving the key behind.
A night of short stops
A patrol route can mean many stops a shift, each a few minutes on foot. Restarting every time is a strain on an older battery, and switching off kills the lights that show the site is being watched. So the motor keeps going.
The key on the dashboard
On a dark estate, a running car with a key in it and nobody nearby is easy pickings. Clients ask how patrol vehicles are looked after, and a car taken from their site would be a hard thing to explain.
Runlock for the Astra H generation
CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK is configured for the Astra H generation and picks the signals it needs off the car's CAN bus. The officer takes the key, the Astra stays running, and it can be locked behind them. Back behind the wheel, the instant the brake goes down or the handbrake is released, runlock ends and the car drives normally.

Questions about the Vauxhall Astra H
- Our patrol cars are a mix of Astra H and J. Do they need different units?
- Each generation has its own listing and gets its own setup. Give us the numbers of each and we match them.
- Is an Astra H too old for this?
- No, the Astra H appears in our coverage. Send its build year and version so an engineer can confirm the car before supply.
- Can we move the unit to a newer car later?
- Yes. The module is reprogrammable and a new configuration is free.
