Engine runlock

Runlock for Vauxhall Combo vans

A Combo is frequently a sole trader's whole business: an alarm engineer, a locksmith, a pest controller, a mobile mechanic. The van holds the tools, the stock and the laptop, and it is parked outside a customer's house for an hour or two. That asks a lot of a small van's battery.

Plenty plugged into a compact van

Inverters for chargers, LED lighting in the load space and a laptop on a dock add up quickly. The Combo's compact size leaves little room for a large auxiliary battery. Keeping the engine running is the practical answer for many owners.

Unattended outside a customer's house

Keeping the van running by leaving its key in place is tempting when you will only be inside a short while. A short while has a habit of becoming the afternoon, with the van running and unlocked on a residential street. Your tools and stock are in the back.

One unit per van, ready to fit

CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK watches the Combo's CAN bus for the signals it needs and keeps the engine going when you take the key with you, so you can lock up and go. Brake, let the handbrake down or pull the cab door open at the wrong moment, and the Combo returns to normal. Several Combos on a fleet can all carry identical configurations, and there is a Combo cruise control retrofit for the motorway miles.

Questions about the Vauxhall Combo

I only have one van. Is it worth asking?
Of course. One-van businesses are welcome; tell us when it was built and what needs power.
Can my own auto electrician fit it?
Yes. The unit arrives configured for your Combo, and we are happy to talk your installer through the job.
I am upgrading to a bigger van soon. Can it move?
It can. Being reprogrammable, it can go into the bigger van, and setting it up again is free.
