Vauxhall Insignia runlock for rapid response cars
A rapid response Insignia arrives first, and the paramedic is out within seconds carrying a bag. Behind them the car keeps its lights going, the radio live and the kit in the boot charging. Nobody at that moment is thinking about the key.
Medical kit that charges from the car
Defibrillators, suction units and radios on a response car are often kept topped up from the vehicle. Warning lights need to stay on while the car is parked at the roadside or outside a house. A call can last much longer than planned.
A battery that is quietly running down
With the engine off, every item on that list draws from the battery until the clinician returns. Keep the engine going with a key left in it and the Insignia stands open and unattended in a public place. Fleet teams have to pick which risk to carry unless something else changes.
Insignia runlock as a fleet standard
Emergency vehicle power is where Intellitec does much of its work, and CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK belongs to that family. It lets the clinician take the Insignia's key and leave the engine on, with the car lockable. Because it reads the car's CAN bus, it drops out of runlock the instant a pedal moves, the handbrake is let go or a door opens outside what has been configured.

Questions about the Vauxhall Insignia
- We replace response cars on a cycle. Does the unit retire with the old car?
- Not at all. Lift it out, have it configured for the incoming car, and pay nothing for the new setup.
- Is the Insignia set up differently from our vans?
- Each one is programmed for the exact vehicle it is fitted to, so an Insignia gets its own setup based on its year and version.
- Can the clinician lock the Insignia at a call?
- Yes, the Insignia is lockable while running, and the method for your cars is confirmed by our engineer.
