Cruise control retrofit

Citroen C-Zero cruise control retrofit

The C-Zero is a small electric city car, and it spends most days on short hops around town. When it is pressed into a ring road or dual carriageway run, keeping an even speed unaided is more tiring than it should be.

One of the first EVs, still earning its keep

Citroen sold the C-Zero alongside its Mitsubishi and Peugeot twins as one of the first mainstream electric cars. Owners who still run one tend to use it for commuting and local errands. Some of those trips include faster roads where holding a chosen pace would help.

Electric cars rule out the old methods

An electric car has no cable running to a carburettor or injection pump, so the old mechanical approach to cruise was never an option. Anything added has to understand the car's own data, or it simply will not work.

Working from the C-Zero's data

CAN KONTROL CRUISE picks up the C-Zero's speed off its network, giving an electric city car a proper hold, resume and cancel. Chorley programmes it for the little Citroen before posting, once an engineer has confirmed your C-Zero.

Questions about the Citroen Zero

Does it work the same way on an electric car?
Yes. It relies on the C-Zero's own messages, not a mechanical link, and your car is checked before programming.
Are the Peugeot and Mitsubishi twins covered as well?
Every badge has its own check. Send the details of whichever twin sits on your drive.
Who supplies and supports it?
Intellitec, part of Scorpion Group. Scorpion Automotive builds the units in Chorley, and C-Zero programming updates are free.
