Engine runlock

Ford Galaxy runlock for private hire

A Galaxy on airport runs or school transport spends a lot of its shift waiting. Passengers expect a warm car when they climb in, and accessible transport drivers often have to leave the cab to help someone to the door.

Seven seats and a lot of waiting

Private hire firms like the Galaxy for its space, and community and accessible transport schemes use it to carry several passengers at once. Drivers wait outside terminals, hospitals and day centres, often with the heater on and a phone charging on the dash.

Helping a passenger means leaving the car

A driver walking an elderly passenger up a garden path cannot stay in the driving seat. If they switch off, the cabin is cold for everyone left inside. If they leave the engine going and the fob on the seat, the MPV is unprotected.

Runlock on a keyless Galaxy

Our Galaxy coverage starts in 2015 and applies to keyless cars. Please confirm your Galaxy is keyless in your message. Once configured, runlock keeps the Galaxy's engine on while the fob is with the driver at the door, and the Galaxy can be locked. Any pedal pressed, the parking brake released or the driving door opened when the configured conditions are not met returns it to normal. If you also run the Ford S-Max, we cover that as well.

Questions about the Ford Galaxy

Can passengers stay inside while runlock is on?
Yes, the engine and heater carry on. Before deciding how to use it, ask our engineer how locking behaves with people inside your Galaxy.
My Galaxy is from 2014. Is it covered?
Our Galaxy coverage is from 2015. Give us the details of an older car and expect a straight reply.
We are switching to another MPV soon. Is the module wasted then?
No. If the new MPV is on our list, the unit is reprogrammed for it free.
