Engine runlock

Volkswagen Transporter T5 and T6 runlock

The Transporter T5 and T6 are everywhere in working life: police and dog section vans, CCTV units, mobile workshops, camper conversions. All of them need equipment powered at times when the driver is away from the cab. Our coverage runs from 2010 and includes the T5 and T6, but not the T6.1.

T6.1 owners: ask us first

The T6.1 is a separate case and is not part of this listing. If your van is a T6.1, or you are unsure which you have, send the registration first so we can check. That saves fitting a unit configured for a different van.

One van, many jobs

A Transporter may carry a CCTV mast one week and a crew with a heater the next. The common thread is power drawn while parked, and a battery that does not enjoy it with the engine stopped. Leaving the key in is the shortcut too many drivers take.

Supplied for your T5 or T6

Each CAN KONTROL RUNLOCK is configured for the Transporter it is going into. Reading the van's CAN bus, it keeps the Transporter turning over after the key is out and leaves the van free to be locked. A pedal pressed, the handbrake freed or the cab door opened contrary to the setup, and the Transporter returns to normal. Fleets moving from another supplier can see equivalents in a CANM8 cross-reference we keep.

Questions about the Volkswagen Transporter T5-T6

We use a CANM8 runlock on some vans. Can we switch?
Our cross-reference sets CANM8's Advanced Runlock range against our equivalents. Send the part number and van details and we will advise.
We have both T5 and T6 vans. Do they share a setup?
Not necessarily. T5 and T6 vans are each configured for their generation before dispatch, so give us the count of both and what they power.
Can I move the unit from a T5 to a newer van?
Yes, it can move with a free reconfiguration. If the newer van turns out to be a T6.1, check with us first.
