Cruise control retrofit

Cruise control for the Ford C-Max

The C-Max is a family car built on Focus foundations, and the Grand C-Max adds seven seats and sliding rear doors. Families put a lot of miles on them, and on a C-Max without cruise the summer drive to Cornwall is a long one for the driver.

Seven seats, one tired driver

A packed C-Max on a long trip means stops, snacks and a driver who cannot relax. Keeping the speed steady with your foot for hours only adds to it. With cruise, the driver can settle into the journey instead of fighting it.

C-Max or Grand C-Max: say which

The two versions share a name and much of their engineering, but the body, doors and seating differ. Assuming one is the other is a common slip on parts orders. An engineer checking the exact car avoids it.

Set up for your C-Max

CAN KONTROL CRUISE feeds off the C-Max network, without anything clamped to the throttle. We configure it in Lancashire before it goes out. Since the C-Max shares so much with the Focus, the Ford Focus page is worth a look if you run both.

Questions about the Ford C-Max

Is the C-Max handled exactly like a Focus?
Close cousins, but separate entries for us. An engineer checks the C-Max on its own before configuring it.
Ours does private hire work. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Taxi and private hire cars doing long fares are exactly where a speed hold proves its worth.
How do we find out whether our car qualifies?
Tell us when the C-Max was registered, plus its engine and gearbox. Our engineer replies with whether it is covered and how it would connect.
