Cruise control retrofit

Ford Transit Connect cruise control retrofit

The Transit Connect is the small van every trade seems to own, and plenty arrived in base spec without cruise. Engineers and tradespeople driving between jobs all day feel that missing feature by Friday afternoon.

The van that goes to every job

Electricians, plumbers, utility engineers and couriers all run Connects. Their days mix town work and motorway runs in the same shift. Cruise on the fast stretches makes the long days more bearable.

Fleet vans multiply small problems

A fleet of forty Connects with one mistake in the configuration is forty problems. Fleet managers need every van set up correctly the first time, and a supplier who can keep pace as vans are replaced. Treating it as a one-car job does not scale.

Our part for the Connect

Each CAN KONTROL CRUISE unit leaves Lancashire programmed for one particular Connect, after an engineer has that van's year and engine. The Connect's CAN bus provides the speed signal, and the pedal box stays closed. A retired van's box moves to its successor after a free reset, and the bigger Ford Transit gets separate treatment.

Questions about the Ford Transit Connect

Do vans that mostly stay in town need it?
If a van never leaves town, probably not. If drivers cover motorway or A-road stretches each week, it is worth discussing.
Is the passenger Tourneo Connect included?
Mention it by name. The engineer checks whether that version is on our list.
Can our vans keep their looms uncut?
Yes, by an inductive method that needs no cutting, and suitability is confirmed van by van.
