Cruise control retrofit

Adding cruise control to a Ford Fusion

The Fusion was a taller, roomier car built on Fiesta foundations, and it found loyal owners who liked the higher seat. Lots of them still do the daily rounds, and plenty never had cruise.

A car people simply keep

Fusion owners tend to hold on to them because they are easy to climb into and cheap to run. When the car is staying put, upgrading it makes more sense than replacing it. Cruise is a sensible addition for anyone still doing regular longer drives.

Age brings its own surprises

A Fusion today has years of servicing, repairs and possibly other accessories behind it. Anyone adding electronics should know what has been done before. Rushing in with a generic part on an older car is the quickest way to create a problem that was not there.

A route that suits an older Ford

CAN KONTROL CRUISE takes its readings from the Fusion's network rather than linking to the throttle pedal. With the Fusion's year and engine checked by an engineer, we configure the module at our Chorley works. Should you later swap the Fusion for something newer, reprogramming it is free.

Questions about the Ford Fusion

Is a Fusion new enough for a CAN based unit?
We cover the Fusion. An engineer confirms your own car once you send its details.
My Fusion is an automatic. Does that change anything?
Yes, the configuration depends on the gearbox, so include it.
I am not technical. Who sorts it out?
Whoever services the car, or an auto electrician, fits it. We confirm the configuration with them or with you, whichever you prefer.
