Cruise control retrofit

Ford Ka: retrofit cruise control

The Ka is a small, cheerful city car, and owners who keep one long enough eventually take it on a motorway. Lots of Kas were sold with no cruise, and in a car this light the driver feels it.

An unplanned trip in a city car

Nobody buys a Ka for road trips, yet they happen: a relative in hospital two counties away, a new job, a weekend by the sea. The Ka copes, but the driver does all the work. A set speed takes some of that weight off.

One name, very different cars

The second-generation Ka was built alongside the Fiat 500 and has a lot of engineering in common with it, while other Kas are quite different machines. Ordering on the badge alone can mean the wrong setup. The year matters more than the name here, and the Fiat 500 page covers its Italian sibling.

Programmed in Lancashire for your Ka

Tell our engineer which Ka, which engine and which controls, and CAN KONTROL CRUISE is configured for it in Lancashire. The Ka's own network feeds the unit, and the pedals stay standard. The driver sets, resumes or cancels the hold whenever they like.

Questions about the Ford Ka

Is the Ka+ the same?
No, the Ka+ is a separate model. Say if that is yours, and it gets a check of its own.
Mine is the Ka that shares parts with the Fiat 500. Is it set up as a Fiat?
No, it is still configured as a Ka. Its year and engine decide the setup.
Is cruise worth adding to a small, cheap car?
If the Ka is doing longer runs and staying with you, it is worth considering. Should you move on, a reprogramme moves it elsewhere, so it is not married to the Ka.
