Cruise control retrofit

Nissan Atleon: retrofit cruise control

The Atleon is a working truck, wearing box bodies, dropsides and tippers. On the trunk-road legs between jobs, a driver with no speed hold spends every mile with a foot planted, and that shows long before clocking off.

Whatever is on the back, the cab does the miles

The body changes from truck to truck, but every Atleon cab spends long periods at a fixed road speed between drops. Operators tend to keep a truck like this for many years. An improvement to the cab earns its keep over that whole working life.

Voltage is where truck jobs go wrong

A light truck is not an oversized car. Parts sold for passenger vehicles assume a 12V system, and a fitter who skips that check can end the day with a unit that will not run reliably on the Atleon in front of them. When a vehicle earns by the hour, a failed fit costs a missed collection as well as a wasted morning.

Set to the truck, not to a car

We build each unit at 12V or 24V, so say which electrical system the Atleon has and it leaves Chorley matched. It picks up the truck's speed messages via CAN, and no actuator gets linked to the pedal. One of our engineers walks through the cab switches with you, so the driver sets and drops the hold in a way that suits how this truck is driven.

Questions about the Nissan Atleon

We run several Atleons with different bodies. Is one configuration enough?
Give each Atleon's year and engine, and flag any extra circuits the bodywork firm ran into the cab. We check them as one group and quote them together.
When we sell an Atleon, does the module go with it?
It can stay or come out. Being reprogrammable, it can be moved across to the replacement truck, and we do that reconfiguration without a fee.
Can a commercial vehicle workshop handle the fit?
That is the normal route. Let us know you are trade and the technical side is handled with the workshop direct.
