Cruise control retrofit

Peugeot 308: retrofit cruise control

The 308 is a family hatchback that a lot of people use as a commuter car, with the SW estate taking the dog and the luggage on holiday. Some 308s lack cruise altogether, and the daily motorway leg reminds the driver every time.

Three generations of one name

There have been several 308s, each with different electronics and, on the later ones, Peugeot's small steering wheel and raised instrument panel. Which one you have affects where the controls can sit and how the module is set up. The year is the first thing the engineer will ask.

Commuters notice a weak fit fast

Someone covering an identical commute morning and evening will find any flaw in a retrofit within a week. If the hold creeps, cuts out under the same bridge each morning, or refuses to resume, the driver gives up on it. A feature used twice a day has to work twice a day.

What the 308 gets from us

Into the 308 goes CAN KONTROL CRUISE, set at Chorley to suit the generation, engine and gearbox you name and reading the hatch's speed over CAN. Nothing mechanical is added at the throttle. Plug-in hybrid owners should say so, and while the car is in warranty the no-cut inductive route may be possible; we will say.
