Cruise control retrofit

Peugeot iOn: can it have cruise control?

The iOn was one of the earlier electric city cars sold in Britain, shared with the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Citroen C-Zero. Owners who use one beyond town, on a faster road to work, sometimes wish it could hold a speed by itself.

An electric pioneer, still running

Many of these little cars have passed to later owners who bought them as cheap electric runabouts. Plenty are used for a daily commute within the battery's range, sometimes on a dual carriageway. On that stretch, a steady speed is welcome.

An unusual car for a generic part

A small, early EV is not what most aftermarket cruise kits are written for. The iOn has no engine and no throttle cable, and its network data is laid out differently from a petrol car. A part that assumes otherwise will probably never engage, leaving a box under the dash that does nothing.

Checked against the iOn first

From the registration year, our engineer checks the iOn for the signals the module uses. If they are present, CAN KONTROL CRUISE is programmed for this small Peugeot in Chorley, and nothing is added at the accelerator. Switch placement is agreed with you, since the iOn's cabin is very simple.
