The Battery Guard is Intellitec’s original and best-known product. It constantly monitors available battery power while the engine and charging system are off, and disconnects non-essential loads before the battery is discharged to the point where it can no longer start the vehicle.
The range covers a wide span of current ratings for different load profiles:
- Compact units: Battery Guard 10A (BG10) and 18A (BG18) for lighter auxiliary loads, both 12/24V.
- High-current units: Battery Guard 250A (BGB250) protecting against over-voltage, under-voltage and exhaustive discharge with the lowest possible quiescent current.
- Battery Guard 2000: 100A and 200A models, 12V and 24V, with optional round switch and module-only (non-auto-reconnect) versions.
- Battery Guard 3000: a fully programmable power management version in 100A and 200A, 12V and 24V, that continuously monitors available battery voltage.
Application-specific variants include the PSV models for public-service vehicles (buses and coaches) and the CD Tail Lift models (12V and 24V), designed specifically to protect engine-starting batteries from tail-lift loads. Reset switches (rocker and round type) and, on the 3000 PSV, optional speech warning modules are available as accessories.
Battery Guards are used across emergency, bus and coach, truck and fleet, amber-light, marine and specialist OEM vehicles wherever a starter or auxiliary battery must be protected from deep discharge. All units are UK manufactured.
