If you need a speed signal on a modern vehicle, the old approach of splicing a mechanical or hall-effect sender often no longer applies. Road speed lives on the vehicle CAN bus instead. A CAN interface reads that data so you can drive equipment that still expects a road speed input.
What the interface actually does
The unit connects to the vehicle CAN bus and reads the road speed the vehicle is already broadcasting. From there it can provide a signal to the device you are fitting. What that output looks like depends entirely on what you are feeding, so we do not treat it as one fixed thing. Tell us the vehicle and the device you are feeding, whether that is a tachograph, taxi meter, limiter or tracker, and we confirm the output it needs and configure the unit for it.
Two units for the common jobs
The CAN KONTROL SPEED is aimed at applications that need road speed alone. Where you also need engine speed, the CAN KONTROL SPEED RPM reads both from the bus so a single module covers a speed and RPM requirement.
Both are built on the i2CAN platform, designed and manufactured in the UK by Intellitec, part of Scorpion Group. One configurable platform covers the range, so the same hardware is set up to the vehicle and the job rather than swapped for a different box each time.
What to tell us
Give us the make, model and year, and the exact device you are feeding along with the input it expects. If the signal you need is not on the standard list, we can look at developing it. Tell us the vehicle and the device, and we configure the output it needs.
